The mall could create a “digital passport” and different shops could scan or stamp the customer app passport. When the customer has collected all the stamps, he or she couldget some sort of meaningful gift, prize or discount.
A restaurant could create an “app passport” for customers to try their appetizers + entree + dessert and get something when they try all three. Or, if there is an international menu, the customer gets a stamp for each country the dish represents.
Trivia contest – post trivia facts on a customer app. Customers who guess them right get a prize on the spot, or, if you offer a bigger prize, correct guesses are entered to win the grand prize.
Random winners – pre-register a winning code in the database and encourage your customers to register receipts that would then win a special prize.
